AS Colour's Heavy Tee sits at 8.2 oz (approximately 280 GSM), which puts it in the upper heavyweight range. The fabric is carded cotton rather than combed, which gives it a slightly more textured hand feel and a more lived-in character out of the box. For brands that want a heavyweight tee that doesn't read as overly polished, the carded yarn structure is a meaningful distinction. The cut is boxy and relaxed with dropped shoulders, fitting the contemporary streetwear silhouette. Construction is solid: side seams keep the body from twisting, shoulder-to-shoulder taping reinforces the neckline, wide neck ribbing holds shape against the weight of the fabric, and double-needle hems handle high-wear points. Pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage on first wash. Worth knowing about color-specific composition. Solid colors are 100% carded cotton. Marled (heathered) colors are 85% cotton, 15% viscose, which gives the heathers their characteristic slubby texture but means hand feel and print behavior can differ slightly between solids and heathers in your run. Care is more particular than most heavyweight tees. AS Colour recommends line drying in shade rather than tumble drying, which protects the fabric and color over time ,but it is worth knowing if your customers expect standard machine care.
