René Bassett's signature tee is one of the few options in the catalog made in Portugal. European manufacturing brings a different production standard to the table, particularly around finishing and dye consistency. For brands building a premium positioning, the country of origin is part of the story. At 300 GSM, the cotton jersey sits firmly in heavyweight territory. The garment dyeing process softens the fabric and produces a slightly washed, lived-in color, with subtle variation that comes from dyeing the tee after it's cut and sewn. If your brand wants uniform color across a full run, this isn't the right base. If you want each piece to feel a little broken in from the start, it is. Two finishing details worth knowing. The collar uses ultra-heavyweight 2x2 ribbing, which is denser than standard 1x1 ribbing and holds its shape better against the weight of the fabric over time. And the tee ships untagged, with no label at the neckline. That's cleaner than a tear-away tag and removes a step for brands applying their own labels. Pre-shrunk to 0-3%, so sizing stays consistent.
